Truro's historic Moreton Bay Fig Tree

2014 ...
Above, Truro's Moreton Bay Fig tree -- around 100 years old and guardian of the homestead driveway.

1921 ...

Below, James Hicks, father of present owner of Truro (Richard Hicks) in a cheeky pose in front of the younger Moreton Bay Fig tree.  James is sixteen years old in this photo and just on six feet tall. The tree is already overshadowing him and showing promise of its future size.

Mental Health issues and the need for Palliative Care affect families and individuals the world over.

In a regional area, accessing treatment and services can be a major challenge, causing distress for both carers and patients. Distance, lack of transport, the need for overnight accommodation all complicate already overwhelming circumstances.

Rotary is supporting locals who are working toward improving these services in our area.

Having Mental Health and Palliative Care services in Cootamundra not only alleviates much of the associated stress but also offers support to those from surrounding villages and towns.

The Rotary Club Cootamundra is determined to persevere in working toward the improvement of local facilities.

Thank you for joining with us in working toward these worthwhile projects.
